Label TextIn 1905, Weber moved to Paris where he immersed himself in the European avant-garde art scene. Painted with brilliant colors and simplified forms, My Studio in Paris foreshadows Weber's stylistic transformation from classical representations to bold and abstract styles of Cubism and Futurism.

My Studio in Paris also provides a glimpse into Weber’s private world. The artist makes his appearance indirectly in this scene through the presence of his coat thrown over a sideboard, his shoes, and a stool. Some have even suggested Weber included a self-portrait in what could be a mirror in the center of the composition.
